District Committee for Protection of Women’s Rights
The Committee for Protection of Women.s Rights has been set up under the Department of Women & Child Development & Social Welfare, Government of West Bengal for assisting in and prevention of crimes against women. This Committee has been set up in each district in the District Social Welfare Office, with District Magistrate as the Chairperson.

Support to Women in Crisis Situations: The Committee enjoys the power to provide legal aid and also monitor the registration, incidence, investigation and disposal of cases relating to atrocities against women.

District Committee On Dowry Prohibition
The District Committee on Dowry Prohibition has been set up under the Department of Women & Child Development and Social Welfare, Government of West Bengal as per the Dowr y Prohibition Act (1961).
