District Committee On Dowry Prohibition The District Committee on Dowry Prohibition has been set up under the Department of Women & Child Development and Social Welfare, Government of West Bengal as per the Dowr y Prohibition Act (1961). This Committee has been set up in each district in the District Social Welfare Office, with District Magistrate as the Chairperson.
